ProXR - The Most Powerful Relays Available!
RS-232 ProXR Relay Controller
This ProXR controller is built with the most powerful command set available anywhere. Put simply, ProXR is a standardized set of commands for controlling relays. This controller is also equipped with Analog to Digital conversion which is simply converting a voltage in the range of 0 to 5VDC into a number that can be processed by custom software that you develop. The applications are limitless and the data that you receive such as light levels and temperature levels can easily activate relays when A/D levels are reached. See more on A/D Conversion below.
This ProXR Lite series controller connects to the RS-232 port of your computer and requires a 12VDC Power Supply. Once powered up, the relay controller waits for a command. A command consists of a few bytes of data. Usually between 2 and 6 bytes. Once the command has been received, the controller processes the command, and sends you back ASCII character code 85 to signal the completion of your command.
The features list of the ProXR series controllers is extensive. Our ProXR Software helps get you acquainted with the powerful command set. To download, look for the ProXR Software in the Resources section to the right and bottom of this page. The ProXR Manual and the mechanical drawing with dimensions and hole layouts can also be found in the Resources section.

ProXR Lite Relay Controller
Our ProXR series controllers have served as the foundation for our relay control architecture since 2004. Since that time, thousands of ProXR controllers have made their way to engineers all over the world. As our customer base has grown, our customers have developed a need for a high-functioning low-cost relay controller suitable for volume manufacturing. The ProXR LITE series controllers are manufactured by machines at high speed and in high volumes. The goal is to offer most of the features of a ProXR relay controller at significant cost savings.
The ProXR Lite series are based on the same designs that offer a 5 year warranty. However, in an effort to further save cost, we have limited the warranty of the ProXR Lite series controllers. ProXR Lite series controllers are guaranteed ONLY against manufacturing and functionality defects for a period of 30 days. Controllers that are damaged by our customers will not be warranted under any circumstances. ProXR Lite series controllers are designed for long life; however, should they be damaged, they should be discarded and replaced.
Unlike the ProXR series relay controllers, ProXR Lite series controllers are NOT expandable. The firmware still thinks 256 relays are available, however, the relay portion of the controller only responds to the first 1, 2, 4 or 8 relays in Bank 1. We did NOT skip the Analog Input portion of the ProXR Lite. All ProXR lite controllers offer a 8-Channel 8/10-Bit Analog to Digital Converter in addition to relay control. The ProXR Lite responds to the same firmware as the ProXR series controllers and is therefore 100% compatible with any applications designed to work with a ProXR series controller (

ProXR Lite Is Here!
A more streamlined manufacturing process brings a more durable, reliable and better relay board to the market. Here's a lists of great features:
User Friendly Board Design
- Surface mount allows for a smaller board
- Break-A-Way Tabs lets you decide the board's size
- Interchangeable interfaces allows you to upgrade or change your interface at any time
ProXR Lite Features
- Works with the fullProXR Command Set
- 8-Channel 8/10-Bit Analog to Digital Converter
- Highly reliable relay with industry leading command set
ProXR Lite Limitations
- This controller cannot be expanded
A/D Conversion
Analog to Digital Conversion allows you to read voltage levels from 0-5 volts using 8-bit or 10-bit resolution. This is particularly useful for reading temperature sensors (one temperature sensor is built into the board, shared with analog input number 8). A/D Inputs are also useful for reading light level sensors, thermocouples, switch closures, or just about any other kind of sensor you can think of. Built-In Pull-Up/Down Resistors keep the inputs quiet. Eight Different A/D Sample programs are available in the
NCD Component Library. These samples are available as a free download and are compatible with Visual Studio. We've got sensors! Visit our
Sensor Page for sensors that have been tested and work with all NCD A/D Boards.

N-Button Lite
N-Button creates widgets or buttons to control up to eight relays without any programming. A new button will be created and placed on the desktop of your computer for each relay that you want to control. N-Button supports Serial Port/ USB and Network connection between PC and relay board. N-Button Manager makes it easy to add any type of button to the desktop and change the properties.
Analog to Digital meters can also be added to your desktop to instantly read the status of any sensor or probe you may have connected to the board. Each meter is customizable and can be changed without any programming knowledge.
