16 Channel ZigBee Relay Board

 
16 Channel ZigBee Relay Controllers offer Standardized Low-Cost, Wireless 2-Way Communications, Offering Excellent Communication Range and Reliability. ZigBee Relay Controllers allow you to speak to a NCD Device using standard Serial Communication as though the device were directly connected to the COM port of your computer. Serial commands are automatically forwarded to ZigBee devices within range.  16 Channel ZigBee Relay are available with your choice of SPDT, SPST or DPDT relays installed.

Using our example software and source code there is
little to no programming required.  Using our USB Modem the relay acts
like it's connected directly to your computer!

Wireless Relay Applications

The ease of setup of the ZigBee Relays, which utilize a wireless protocol is demonstrated in the above video. These Wireless Relays are ideal for reliable, low cost wireless relay applications. Not only is it easy to power and connect the wireless interface but thanks to our example software and source code there is little to no programming required to allow your computer to begin communicating with the relay. Simply connect a ZigBee Modem into your USB port and it will forward all commands to the Wireless Relay. (Commands can also be sent to multiple Relays).

16 Channel ZigBee Relay

Our 16 Channel  ZigBee Relays feature SPDT, SPST or DPDT Relays installed.  Controllers are available with your choice of eight channel 8/10-Bit Analog to Digital Conversion or UXP Expansion Port on selected models (look for AD or UXP in the part number) and all are of course SignalSwitch compatible.  All 16 Channel ZigBee Relays feature the ProXR Command Set and an XR Expansion Port.  Built from the ground up with expansion in mind, simply Chain the XR Expansion Modules to the XR Expansion port, one after another, to meet your computer controlled switching requirements up to 256 relays. 

ZigBee Modem

A ZigBee Modem connects to the USB Port of your PC and mounts as a virtual COM port (ZigBee Modems and video can be found on the ZigBee Modem page).  Simply write your software to talk to the serial port and you will be talking to wireless devices in no time!!!  ZigBee modem options will be available at checkout.

Onboard analog to digital conversion is available on selected models of these controllers! This will allow you to:
  • Read light and temperature levels
  • Easily activate relays when A/D limits are reached
  • Detect audio levels in a room when connected to a microphone
  • Read switches, potentiometers, and analog joysticks
  • applications are limitless, and surprisingly easy to integrate
  • Available on 2 - 32 channel ZigBee boards

UXP is a new standardized data port, specifically for the purpose of speaking to various expansion modules. If the controller you are considering is equipped with a UXP port, you can take advantage of extended commands to speak to our growing line of I/O expansion modules. UXP in the part number allows you to:

  • Add Contact Closure Inputs
  • Add Analog to Digital Inputs
  • Add Voltage Detectors
  • Digital Potentiometer Outputs
  • Available on 16, 24 & 32 channel ZigBee Boards

Models with the ProXR suffix will feature the ProXR commend set. The ProXR series will allow you to:

  • Send simple commands to activate relays
  • Upgrade without having to re-write your software
  • Activate up to 16 relay timers
  • Control up to 256 total relays using the XR expansion port
  • Full backward/forward compatibility w/the ProXR series command set
  • Available on the 2 - 32 channel ZigBee boards

We want the user to be able to experiment with all the different samples available so as of right now the samples cannot be downloaded individually.

With the NCD Component Library we've "started" the programming for you.  We say started because these are fully functioning samples but we've also included the source code so you can customize them to your exact needs.  Start by downloading the NCDComponentSetup.zip file from the NCD Component page.
